Award Committees
The Combustion Institute has four Award Committees that actively meet during the even years for the International Symposium on Combustion.These committees are responsible for selecting the researchers that have the most significant contributions to the combustion society. 

These committees are: Gold Medal Selection Committee, Gold Medal Nomination Committee, Bernard Lewis Fellowship Committee and Silver Medal Committee.

Gold Medal Nomination Committee
This committee is charged with the responsibility to provide the nominees for the Selection Committee to select the three Gold Medalist Awardees.
